Interesting facts about New Zealand people
  • The most famous person in New Zealand is Sir Edmond Hillary because he was the very first person to climb Mt Everest. Sir Edmond Hillary’s picture is on the 5 dollar note, he is smiling because he made it to the top of Mt Everest.
  • A New Zealander made the fastest motorbike in the world. It was called the Indian.
  • A New Zealander invented the bungy jump, his name was A J Hackett.
  • New Zealand has 4.4 million people.
  • ⅓ of the people live in Auckland.
  • The word Kia Ora is one of the most famous words in New Zealand culture, it means hi, hello and greetings.
  • The most popular game in NZ is rugby.
