Exploring our national current events
LI: To identify author’s purpose.
Authors write for a purpose (reason). These reasons are to persuade, inform or entertain (PIE). Each day, newspaper editors around the world must make decisions about which stories they will run. We explored the different types of current events that are happening in New Zealand, thought about why the story made the news and plotted the location on a google map. Something i found introsting was a 100 year old train was saved by a man named David Robb one of the One of the founders of Auckland’s Museum of Transport and Technology (Motat)

6 sentence story
Today my group wrote 6 sentence stories to help us take risks with our writing. We did this by sharing our ideas and writing sentence that drop hints about what was happening in the picture we chose to write about. We helped each other by suggesting ideas to each other to make our stories more interesting.

Maths
This week our group practiced finding the answer to written maths questions. To do this we needed to first find the numbers we were working with. We decided the most efficient strategy was to use our times table knowledge. Being able to find how many groups of a number made this strategy efficient.

cityscape of Sydney
My Cityscape of Sydney does not show the Sydney Tower, and the Harbour Bridge. In this cityscape there are many office buildings. The building on the left is tall and thin. Beside the thin building is a wide building with 2 different levels that looks like an office. The tallest building next to the wide building has an unusual shape on top of the building that looks like a staircase. The building next to the tallest building is a 2 story building that has many offices.
